Before writing this review, I threw a world-class tantrum. Seeing JoJo's Bizarre Advenutre end is a sad day indeed.
Originally I thought it had to do with the Spring season being off to an average start, but upon further reflection I don't think that's the case. In reality, it's just sad to say goodbye to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. A series that has kept me entertained, week in, week out right until the end. An end that perfectly sums up the whole series.
How else could it have ended? Cars had to become a godlike being, allowing Joseph to beat him one last time and escape the curse of the Joestar lineage. Of course he couldn't get off scott-free - he's not that good a trickster - so an arm and a leg had to be sacrificed. That was nothing compared to what Cars had coming to him.
In a go big or go home move, JoJo blasted that silly immortal deity into outer space on a last-minute reaction. At this point my own reaction was "Typical Joseph," and yet it was a great, over-the-top, grandiose way to bring the series to an end. Nothing less from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure right? How can the ending not be this flashy? Poor Cars has now been frozen in space as a result of it.
Well that wasn't all there was to it. After an ending of misery for Jonathan, Joseph got the happy ending. In retro, now considered sexist style, he got the girl he met once and a made a promise to. Then for kicks, he re-appeared from the dead and showed up to his own funeral without even knowing it. As a side note on this happy ending, the supporting cast also got their own happy endings. Well....Except for Speedwagon.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Epilogue/Part III Teaser

Even with such a great ending, we had something more in store for us. During the epilogue in which Joseph has aged and is making his trip to Japan, we catch a glimpse of Jotaro Kujo. For those who didn't guess, he's part 3's protagonist.
So what does this mean? Does David Productions have more JoJo's Bizarre Adventure in store for us? I sure hope so.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Mini) Series Review
Truth be told, it's not easy blogging an anime adaptation of a manga you know. It's hard to write about something you're seeing for the second time and you don't share in the joy of surprises. Now imagine the difficulty of blogging a series like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It's a much harder task, to say the least.
Whilst it was hard to blog, I do hope my feelings for the series have been made perfectly clear: I love it. It also pleases me that my fellow bloggers loved it, and I hope the fans who've been waiting so long for this adaptation were as happy about it as I was.
Full credit to David Productions. They continue to prove their understanding of source material as they churn out anime after anime which are highly entertaining to watch. It's their understanding which made the style over substance approach to dealing with the series the best possible option. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was never lacking in style itself, nevertheless the animation it received pushed it into the next level.
I've said all I can say about this series. Right now it's a contender for the best of the year, and I don't see that changing as the year progresses.
