Yet another slower episode for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, though it's good to see it back to being more like its usual self.
Last week I complained that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was too tame. This week, I'm happy to report that it's back to being its usual over-the-top self. Even so, this episode wasn't a grand return. It was good, not great but that was to be expected as we transition to the next part of the story.
Before I get to that, guess I'll go over some of the events that transpired. Suzie Q ended up being the strange object of attention in this episode. In a roundabout way, it was necessary to give JoJo's love interest some kind of exposure. In any case, it was also the stubborn nature of any antagonist this series has; all of them have to have some kind of last stand before actually biting the dust. As the focus shifted back to the main story from Suzie, you could tell some romance was introduced to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Not the usual kind. The old-school kind that is befitting this series.
The remainder of the episode was all about a certain Nazi's glorious return. If the antagonists are stubborn, then what would you expect from the side characters None of them will die that pitifully. Stroheim is back - Terminator joke made! - with some nice new gear and undying love for his nation. A part of me is glad he's back, as I always liked him on some level. I wouldn't go as far as to say he contributed all that much to the series, but his humorous presence was much appreciated. There is some cruelty, as I suspect he will be made mince meat of once again, making him a two-time loser. Such a cruel fate.
As I said earlier, not much happened. It was a fine episode, though nothing extraordinary. No complaints though, as this was more of a transitional episode than anything. We're still on track towards some epic fight scenes, but we just have to wait for them to arrive and then all will be great with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
