Not the most memorable episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, but still a lot of fun.
Much slower pace, this episode took its time with the introduction of the newest antagonist. Supposedly named after the Santa Ana Winds but really a certain guitarist, Santana is the latest in a long line of bad guys. Unlike the others, he has to educate himself.
The episode almost exclusively focused on Santana's slow development, leaving only a few moments for the wildchild Joseph to get in his moments. Clearly those few moments were enough because his scene as a Carmen Miranda drag queen was hilarious; "What ! You saw right through it " His first scene also had a sense of comedy to it, but because the fight lasted such a short amount of time, it wasn't a good scene in terms of the whole episode.
JoJo does make more of an impact at the end of the episode. After he snuck in dressed as a Nazi and then ripped out Strolheimer's hair, he unleashed a pretty cool ripple attack. Just as this was done, Roundabout started playing again, which always one of my favourite moments with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. They just know when to queue that song!
As I said, not the most memorable episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Part of this is because the rest of the episode have all been of a high calibre and Part I had a quick pace, but it also has to do with this arc starting off with a bang. I'd almost call this a transitional episode because we're now getting introduced to new evil monsters that must be defeated.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure may not have had all that great action this episode, but it's coming. Without a doubt the fighting shall return in the next episode. Even JoJo's Bizarre Adventure can't be 100% excitement all the time.
