The background to the anime is set in the year 101 A.G. (a new Gundam universe). The space colony Angel is attacked by a mysterious being called "UE" and the colony falls, the day is called the "The Day the Angel Fell" and begins the war between humanity and these beings.
The anime then begins 7 years later when the space colony Ovan gets attacked by the mysterious "UE". The main character Flit Asuno witnesses the "UE" kill his mother when the colony gets attacked. He then finds an "AGE Device" and begins making the "Gundam" for several years, he finally completes the "Gundam AGE-1" and pilots it to fight for humanities survival.
The series is supposed to cover a 100 years of war with Flit and his descendants (basically 3 generations of Flit's family). This is the first time a Gundam series like this has been released, however the original Gundam series was similar but did not have the family connection between the main characters like Gundam AGE will.

Our opinions
azeriraz: I like the look of a few of these but if I had to choose right now I'd be most likely to pick up Mirai Nikki, Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle, Persona 4 and maybe Busou Shinki.
sintaku: I m interested in Guilty Crown, Persona 4, UN-GO, Last Exile, Shakugan no Shana III (Once I catch up with the last 2 seasons which shouldn t take long), Fate/zero, Hunter x Hunter and Mobile Suit Gundam AGE.
