Weekly Shonen Jump – Update # 1 (2012)
0
Ok, so it’s no surprise that Weekly Shonen Jump is constantly picking up and dropping series, since those are the harsh realities of the industry but this post has been mainly inspired by a sudden surge of developments that will affect the state of the magazine and the series that some of us are currently enjoying.
Area no Kishi – 4 (The Alien Is…)
0This episode was just confirmation of how much I love this series. Maybe because the beginning of the series has proven to be a breakaway from the norm of all other sports anime but I find it to be refreshing especially since I haven’t been impressed with anime adaptations of my other favourite sports manga; namely Eyeshield 21 and Slam Dunk. (more…)
Mouretsu Pirates – 2 (Guns and Electronic Warfare)
0Well I have no idea why it has taken me so long to watch the second episode of a show which I have high hopes for. Maybe because I still couldn’t find the time with university and my other 2 picks for the winter on top of manga and anime I was watching before. Still a good episode. (more…)
Essential Shonen Sports Manga
1So it’s no secret I love sports mangas and animes, but the problem I face along with many others is actually finding one that I enjoy. This is the case since there are as many sports manga’s out there as actual athletes but even some of the best sports mangas are still not very well known outside of Japan. So here is just a list of sports manga and anime which are considered to be amongst the best (some through my opinion maybe). This article contains only shonen series but I may follow up with one about seinen series. (more…)
Brave10 – 3 (I Wanted to Do Dirty Things To Saizo)
1You sometimes just have to love Brave10 for being a straight up battle anime with a lot of comedy, well an abundance of comedy for at least this episode. Unfortunately as far as story progression goes, this episode was a complete flop but there were some interesting aspects since character development is still in its early stages at this point in the anime. (more…)
Senhime Zesshou Symphogear – 3 (Feeling Cursed)

Still don’t know why I keep coming back to the show! It must be like one of those guilty pleasures which you will deny until death should you be confronted by it but in the privacy of your own room you can enjoy it all you like – no, that’s no even it. Why?
Area no Kishi – 3 (Suguru, No I Mean Kakeru)
0Aim: Not to use the phrase “emotional roller coaster”
This episode will put you through an emotional……….. ride of some sort………. well yeah, should have just used roller coaster. (more…)
Brave10 – 2 (Something to Fight For)
0Honestly, just by watching this episode one can sometimes forget that this isn’t meant to be a shonen battle anime. This might have been an attempt to draw in a wider demograpic, so in a way one can’t be too sure about whether this anime should be classed as seinen or shonen.
