Weekly Shonen Jump – Review of Issue #25 2012
0Issue #25 sees the start of Kouhei Horikoshi-sensei’s (author of Oumagadoki Dobutsuen) Sensei no Bulge, featured on the cover. The chapters in this issue for the series I cover have so far been either hit or miss with me but the most notable would be One Piece. Check out the awesome and beautifully drawn centre colour for Pajama na Kanojo – Haikyuu!!’s one pales in comparison.
Here’s this issue’s chapter reviews. (more…)
Jormungand – 6
0My thoughts on the last few episodes:
Episode 4 – That was great, but next episode won’t be as good.
Episode 5 – Wow, I wasn’t expecting a flashback that well done! Great episode, but I doubt that next one will be as good.
And now this episode has taught me to have faith in White Fox and the director since they keep surpassing my expectations. (more…)
Spring 2012 – Mid Season Review
0We’re approaching the halfway point of the season for almost all of the series and so another post is due, to give an idea of what the best shows you should be watching. Omitted from the post are of course the sequel to Korewa Zombie, Shirokuma Café and other short anime/any that didn’t feature in the spring preview and Fate/zero since I’m still catching up. Besides each anime, I will put how many episodes I have seen in brackets.
Other Manga/Anime News – #9 (2012)
0This time round it’s a bit of short news blasts, some information revealed regarding upcoming anime projects and a review of the Biglobe anime poll. First off:
1. Tiger and Bunny‘s 2nd anime film is scheduled to be released sometime in 2013.
2. Kimi ni Todoke (manga) as of it’s 16th volume has sold over 20 million copies.
3. Mangaka-san to Assistant-san, the manga running in Shonen Gangan will end in the July issue.
4. Hajimete no Aku, a manga running in Weekly Shonen Sunday will end in Issue 25, about 2 weeks from now.
5. Claymore has not ended and will appear in the June issue of Jump SQ. Seems like an error was made.
6. The editor for Nyaruko san has revealed that 1 million copies of the novel have been sold.
7. Nisekoi, the romantic comedy manga running in Weekly Shonen Jump will have a vomic released starring Haruka Tomatsu (To Love-ru, Anohana) as Chitoge and Hisako Kanemoto (Shinryaku?! Ika Musume, Koreaw Zombie Desu ka?) as Onodera.
8. Bleach will have 2 novels released on June 4th entitled “Spirits Are Forever With You 1 & 2″
9. Deadman Wonderland, the manga, has been put on indefinite hiatus because the illustrator is taking pregnancy leave.
Weekly Shonen Jump – Review of Issue #24 2012
0Trying to find the cover for this issue has been close to impossible, but don’t worry I’ll add one as soon as possible. This issue saw the start of a new gag series by the name of PSI Kusuo Saiki and the chapters of the other series were mostly good. I’m still waiting for Haikyuu!! to catch up but I think at the speed that Uprod scans are going, it will be caught up soon enough.
So let’s take a look at this issue’s chapters. (more…)
